Marguerite Da Costa
By Sharon Schmidt
My best friend and roommate of over 25 years. “Twins by different mothers”. Marguerite was a sweet, generous, creative, and wonderful person who lived just a short 60 years. We met working retail, neither of us married so we moved in together. We were ‘partners in crime’, especially on weekends when we weren’t working – we’d explore the city, we’d seek out new places, we’d go for High Tea, we’d travel together, shop together, we’d be each other’s sounding boards, I could go on and on. Marguerite passed away in Langley Hospital’s CCU on March 30, 2016 and she is out of pain and reunited with her beloved niece and mother. I know she is waiting patiently for me, with our dogs, at “the Rainbow Bridge”. May she rest in peace in the knowledge that she was loved by many and will be forever missed by many, especially by me – her best friend forever.
Marguerite was a loving and caring person to all who knew her. She had a beautiful smile that just lite up the room. She was loyal to all of her friends. I am so glad I had the privilege to know her. We all loved going out on the many adventures that Sharon and Marguerite would plan. I especially loved the High Tea party we had for her 60th birthday.
It is sad we had to lose her so early in her life. She will be our Angel up in heaven. I know she will be watching over all of us. We love her and miss her a lot.
Marguerite and I have been friends since high school she was such a fun & easy person to be with her family welcomed me to family gathering’s. Marguerite loved to travel and we have had some
great fun filled trips laughing and giggling in our youth. She was of course my maid of honour and
Marguerite & Sharon had the title of Aunty for both my son & daughter. She was so creative her
talent for finding the right gifts and wrapping them so very beautifully you didn’t want to disturb such
art. Marguerite had a great sense of humour and her friendship meant the world to so many everyone that knew her knew she was a great and loyal friend. Her passing has left a void in so many lives this angel that walked among us is no longer in pain and for that we can all be grateful . Heaven will be well decorated with ribbons & bows. Those of us left behind to grieve her passing Will fill that void with so many beautiful memories you will never ever be forgotten our dear dear friend,ta ta for now Love you Always Jamie P. S. Give Nicole a hug for me!
Sharon, so sorry for your loss. Margarite was such a nice person with a great “decorating eye”.
Yup, with all your dogs. Take care.
