Client Volunteers are required to complete our Hospice Basic Training Program. This 10-week, 30-hours long training program is designed to provide the basic skills and knowledge you need to give compassionate and caring support to dying and/or bereaved people and their families. Training occurs twice a year.

Hospice Residence Visiting Team:

A team of hospice volunteers who listen, offer emotional support and companionship to the dying and their families at the Langley Hospice Residence.

Palliative Support:

Volunteers offer and provide companionship and emotional support to a dying person and his or her family in their homes, residential care and hospitals. Volunteers may also provide other supports such as vigils and respite care.

Adult Bereavement Support:

Volunteers will have the opportunity to offer and provide emotional support, as a group facilitator or in a one-on-one setting, to individuals who have experienced the death of a loved one.
