Rhonda Dent Photography has partnered with Langley Hospice to develop a ‘Moments In Focus’ a photography project for local teens who have been impacted by the death of a significant person in their lives. The project aims to give teens the opportunity to express themselves in unique and creative ways through a series of portraits that have personal meaning for them.

Teens will incorporate something meaningful from that special someone and or a reflection of the loss in some form. They will draw from their own experiences, ideas, thoughts, feelings and memories about their loss.

Although death is universal the experience and expression of grief is individual, teens are influenced by a number of factors including culture, experience, relationships and their individual personality and each of these factors affects the way bereaved individuals experience and express their grief. Each portrait is a unique, and individual interpretation of each teen’s journey through grief.

The Moments In Focus Project is looking to raise funds to have each of the teens photos professionally framed and host a private showing for family and friends. For more information, or to make a donation, please visit the following link: canadahelps.org/gp/37610

Moments in Focus

Helping teens cope with grief is a topic that hits close to home for me; I lost my dad at the age of 17. I know what it feels like to lose someone you love and how difficult it is to express the thoughts and feelings surrounding the loss.

In partnership with Langley Hospice we have developed a photography project entitled Moments In Focus, for local teens who have been impacted by the death of a significant person in their lives. The main goal of this project is to give teens the opportunity to express themselves in unique and creative ways through a series of portraits that have personal meaning for them.

Each portrait is unique, individual their interpretation and story of each teen’s journey through grief.
